Good Food, Good Times and Hot Real Estate Deals

December 9th, 2008 by Ronnie

Greetings,

I recently returned from an awe-inspiring trip to Brazil with a group of VIP Club members. The club members found Brazil to be entertaining, uplifting and financially promising.

The members arrived from Washington, DC at the local airport and jumped right into the Brazilian lifestyle. We stayed in the historic Barra District of Salvador, Bahia. This area is filled with restaurants, shops and beaches frequented by many locals and tourists. There are numerous street vendors offering everything from DVDs and tee shirts to custom hand-made jewelry.

On the first night we had dinner at a restaurant located on the main strip overlooking the ocean, and were entertained by a parade sponsored by the city to celebrate their upcoming election for the new mayor for the city of Salvador. The parade featured fire works, music, drummers and a host of other attractions normally seen during a Brazilian festival. We watched the parade as the members enjoyed their first experience with Brazilian food Bahian style. We all headed back to our rooms after dinner and prepared for the next day.

On the second day, the members met my Brazilian Real Estate Affiliate, Edson, and were introduced to some hot real estate deals that they quickly and wisely seized. They were fortunate enough to buy a penthouse on the 14th floor of a new apartment building. The suite features its own swimming pool. The unit overlooks the ocean and is less than 3 minutes from the beach. I must say that it was shear luck and good timing to acquire the penthouse. There were only four penthouse units available and another European investor had just placed a contract on the other three. The unit will be delivered in 2011. By the way, even sweeter, the builder also provided financing to accommodate this purchase.

The members engaged in other entertainment jaunts that included a night at Club Bambara, a night in The Pelourhino where they enjoyed Brazil’s most famous Afro-Brazilian band, Olodum, a boat cruise to a nearby island for dinner and shopping, and a number of other local activities. The main shopping was done at Mercado, an indoor-outdoor flea market that features everything from leather goods and clothing to Afrocentric Brazilian Art. After shopping, we treated ourselves to a scrumptious lunch of salad, rice and beans— Brazilian style, shrimp, lobster tails and Brazilian beverages. The members were surprised to see the final bill totaling less than $17US per person.

I am planning the Club’s next trip to Brazil for Carnival in February 2009. The major reason for this trip is the third “R” in Viva Brazil’s focus—Relaxation. We plan to have a great time! Keep checking back here for further updates.

There are flights now going directly to Bahia from the Washington, DC Metropolitan area with a flying time of approximately 6 ½ hours costing under $700. Please contact me now if you are interested in going to Carnival this February. Spots will fill up quickly! Email me at vivabrazil@verizon.net.

I would like to inform you of a new blog, www.brazilianattractions.com that focuses mainly on entertainment, music and restaurants in both Rio de Janeiro and Bahia.

Thank you, and as we say in Brazil, “Tchau!”

A Touch of Bahia—Potomac Cruise

July 22nd, 2008 by Ronnie

Greetings,

Our first “A Touch Of Bahia” Potomac Cruise was a great success! We boarded the Pelican Yacht from the new National Harbor in Maryland and cruised the Potomac for two hours. The guests expressed high interest in the VIP club membership. Everyone enjoyed the sumptuous dishes provided by Superb Cuisines. The owner, Keula Binelly, is a native of Bahia, Brazil.

The Brazilian dance ensemble put on an excellent performance and kept guests entertained throughout the evening. The music consisted of high-energy samba tunes with a pinch of Bossa Nova. The dancers posed for photos with the guests (everyone enjoyed this perk). Sonia Pessoa heads the dance ensemble and is also a native of Bahia, Brazil.

Our second cruise is scheduled to take place on Thursday evening, August 14, 2008. The cruise will leave from the same location, the middle pier at The National Harbor. This is our last cruise prior to the trip to Bahia in September 2008. We anticipate full capacity and have invited local media. Please go to the event section of this website to register for this exciting affair.

We are in the process of negotiating the purchase of the beachfront property, which will serve to accommodate our members once completed. We have dubbed it “The Palace.” The property contains over 10,000 sq ft of living space and is located in a prestigious oceanfront, gated community in Bahia. Among its many wonderful amenities, the property offers a roof top swimming pool, a tropical garden, 15 bedrooms and a full commercial kitchen.

From this point forward, make sure to visit our blog at least once a week, as new information will be posted in an on-going stream that you will not want to miss. We will keep you abreast of hot real estate deals, investment opportunities, related events and festivities. We will also provide links to other sites offering valuable information to you.

So—-stay tuned and continue to check in on a weekly basis.

Thank you for spending this time with Viva Brazil!

Sincerely,

Ronnie Lucas, President, PREC

Greetings,

I just returned from Bahia, Brazil—- and it was excellent! I finished putting the pieces together for VIVA Brazil. Everything came together nicely. The weather was perfect, ranging in temperature between 80 and 90 degrees. The beaches were packed since schools and universities were closed for their summer months. The food was very tasty, as always, and the entertainment was non-stop.

Speaking now of real estate, there were too many good investment opportunities to mention them all in this writing. Developers are moving in from various countries and making Bahia the hot spot for real estate investing in Brazil. The city of Salvador just changed zoning along their primary ocean view drive, allowing building heights of eighteen stories now.The new ordinance has created instant wealth for many existing property owners while sparking a buying frenzy amongst investors and developers hoping to get a piece of this amazing beach front land.

I do want to highlight one exciting new development I saw located in Bahia. Quintas De Sauipe is a resort-like community located about 80 minutes north of the city of Salvador. Quintas De Sauipe features new detached single family homes up to 4000 square feet in size, an 18 hole golf course, beaches, a lagoon, and many other amenities favored by tourists and residents. Theses houses are priced to sell and financing is available. Also, full management service is available for absentee owners looking to rent their newly built houses.

We will be taking the first group of members to Bahia during the first and second weeks of May 2008. Anyone interested in going should sign up immediately; this trip will definitely sell out quickly. Remember, the first 50 members to sign-up will save $1,000— so act now and join.
